Aging With Cerebral Palsy, Spinal Cord Injury and Amputation: Implications for Life Care Planners
People with disabilities commonly have aging related complications that occur at an earlier age than their peers without disabilities. These complications can lead to a cascade of difficulties which can negatively affect the level of the individual’s independence and can impact many components of the life care plan. As a life care planner, it is critical to understand the effects of early aging complications and their potential impact on the life care plan. This article addresses some of the aging implications for individuals with cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury, and amputation.
