Weight Gain Among Children and Adolescents on Dolutegravir in Spain

This retrospective real-world study analyzed Body Mass Index (BMI) and obesity in 257 Spanish children/adolescents with HIV receiving dolutegravir (DTG)-based or non-Integrase Strand Transfer Inhibitor regimens over five years. DTG-based regimens increased BMI Z-scores without clear clinical relevance. Continuous monitoring of weight trajectories is essential to protect long-term cardiovascular health in this population.
