Genome-wide identification of AAAP gene family and expression analysis under abiotic stresses in Avena sativa

The amino acid/auxin permease (AAAP) gene family plays a vital role in plant growth and abiotic stress responses. In this study, we advance current knowledge of the regulatory mechanisms associated with the AAAP gene family through bioinformatic analysis of the whole genome of Avena sativa. We identified 145 members of the AAAP family in Avena sativa, then investigated these genes (AsAAAPs) in terms of their chromosomal localisation, phylogenesis, conserved motifs, structure and replication. Many abiotic stress response elements were detected in the promoter region of AsAAAPs. RT-qPCR analysis revealed that AAAPs genes play a role in regulating plant responses to salt and saline stress. By highlighting the biological functions of AsAAAPs, this study provides a theoretical basis for further exploration of these important genes.
