Global, regional, and national burden of lower extremities peripheral artery disease from 1990 to 2021 and forecast for 2050: a cross-sectional analysis from the 2021 global burden of disease study
The global burden of PAD shows a declining trend but remains at a high level. Significant disparities exist in disease burden and risk factors across different SDI regions. Age and sex also exert distinct influences on the distribution of PAD burden. Targeted prevention and treatment strategies are essential to further reduce this burden and improve patient outcomes.
