Metabolic score for visceral fat as a superior predictor of frailty in overweight and obese adults: a cross-sectional NHANES analysis (2007–2020)
The METS-VF was strongly associated with frailty in overweight/obese adults and was superior to the METS-IR, WC, and BMI in predicting frailty. These findings suggest that METS-VF may be useful for the early identification of high-risk populations, although causal inference cannot be made owing to the cross-sectional design.
