Estimation of ground state deformation parameters from quasi-elastic barrier distribution using Bayesian Inference Technique for the heavy massive systems

The estimation of the ground state deformation parameter studied at the large-angle quasi-elastic (QEL) scattering below and above Coulomb barrier energies with the coupled-channel analysis for the massive system is a recent trend of research in nuclear physics. In this work, the octupolar deformation parameter ([Formula: see text]) for the target nucleus [Formula: see text]Pb and the quadrupolar deformation parameter ([Formula: see text]) for the five projectile nuclei [Formula: see text]Ti, [Formula: see text]Cr, [Formula: see text]Fe, [Formula: see text]Ni and [Formula: see text]Zn have been evaluated. This evaluation is done using channel coupling of single and multi-phonon vibrational excitation between target and projectiles in the framework of Bayesian statistical parameter estimation using the probe barrier distribution of QEL scattering. It has been observed that such a heavy mass target-projectile combination contributes to the synthesis of superheavy elements (SHEs). Here, the heaviest nucleus ([Formula: see text]Pb) is the target and it has a doubly magic number, which is exceptionally stable. The best reproduction of the experimental data with the simulation results is possible when the target excitation is maximum (three phonon), as it goes to much heavier projectiles except for the projectile [Formula: see text]Ni. This projectile also has a magic number, and it needs three phonon excitation coupled with a single phonon excitation of the target. This observation is undoubtedly interesting for extracting the deformation parameters of the ground state when the phenomenological results of QEL barrier distributions fairly agree with the experimental data. This study may direct future experiments where the synthesis of SHEs can be expected.
