Giant dipole and spin magnetic quadrupole resonances within Wigner function moments method
The Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) and related spin-dependent excitations in heavy spherical nuclei are studied within the Wigner Function Moments (WFM) method. The energies and excitation probabilities of spin [Formula: see text] isovector and isoscalar excitations are calculated for [Formula: see text]Pb and [Formula: see text]Zr. The spin degrees of freedom give rise to the electric spin dipole excitations. For these states, the energy location and [Formula: see text] transition strength are estimated. The results of calculations are compared with the available experimental data and with other theoretical studies.
