Use of Spirometry for Diagnosis and Management of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease: An Approach of General Practitioners and Pulmonologists From Karachi, Pakistan
Spirometry, the recommended test for the diagnosis of several respiratory diseases, including COPD, is not used as frequently as it should be. The study found that non-pulmonologists are more reluctant to use spirometry than pulmonologists. This emphasizes the necessity of raising awareness and providing training regarding the significance of spirometry in the identification and treatment of COPD.
