New iodine-rich group 15 iodometalates( <scp>iii</scp> ): self-assembly of metal halide anions and polyiodides into supramolecular architectures <i>via</i> I⋯I contacts
Two polyiodometallates of group 15 elements with the general formula (H 3 O){(Py) 2 (CH 2 ) 3 } 6 {[M 2 I 11 ][MI 5 (I 3 )] 2 (I 3 ) 2 }·3H 2 O (M = Sb (1), Bi (2)) were synthesized, featuring extended supramolecular networks based on iodine⋯iodine non-covalent interactions.
