Efficient catalytic degradation of methyl orange from dye wastewater by <scp> PAN A </scp> ‐ <scp>FeMOF</scp> and its optimization using the central composite design‐response surface methodology

Abstract A hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile fiber‐supported FeMOF catalyst (PAN A ‐FeMOF) was utilized as a heterogeneous Fenton catalyst to effectively degrade methyl orange (MO). Central composite design‐response surface methodology (CCD‐RSM) was employed to optimize four key parameters: pH, degradation time, catalyst dosage, and H 2 O 2 concentration. The study revealed pH as the most influential factor, with optimal conditions identified at pH 3.1, 96.3 min, 0.39 g catalyst, and 0.15 mol/L H 2 O 2 according to the model. These conditions resulted in a notable degradation efficiency of 97.6%, closely matching the predicted value of 97.8%. This research highlights the potential of PAN A ‐FeMOF as an economical and scalable solution for treating dye wastewater.
