Misleading Conclusion That Is Not in Accordance With the Results of the Reported Randomized, Controlled Trial
The publication reports on results from a randomized clinical trial (NCT00625482), investigating the nonspecific vaccine effect (NSE) from the Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) vaccine neonatal mortality in low birthweight infants in Guinea-Bissau.As a result, the abstract's conclusion misrepresents the RCT's outcomes, because the trial did not demonstrate "major reductions in mortality rate."
