Abatement of metmorfinhydrochloride using GG-g-P (NIPAM)/CoFe2O4 bio hydrogel

Adsorption is treatment method for the purification of wastewater. The removal of targeted pollutants like dyes, drugs, heavy metals and other molecules were done by diverse range of adsorbents. G-g-P (NIPAM)/CoFe2O4 composite biohydrogels were synthesized using conventional free radical method and characterized by FT-IR and XRD. An evaluation on the adsorption features of bio based hydrogel GG-g-P (NIPAM)/CoFe2O4 for the decontamination of MF drug from an aqueous solution was undertook. The effect of various parameters such as adsorbent dose, pH (2–12), adsorb ate concentration, contact time and temperature was assessed. The results showed that adsorption of MF reached equilibrium after 14 h and subsequently no change in the removal efficiency of MF observed. Maximum MF removal efficiency was (82.24%) was recorded at pH 12 for adsorbent dose, adsorbate concentration and contact time of 40 mg, 100 mg/L and 24 h respectively. The obtained result showed that adsorption of MF followed the Langmuir isotherm and pseudo second-order kinetics model.
