A glucose sensor based on a Fe3O4/LiF/Fe2NiO4 magnetic tunnel junction and its use in diabetes monitoring

The article introduces a novel concept of employing a magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) device for the detection of glucose. The central idea involves utilizing the suggested MTJ device as a spinplasmonic detector for polarized light. The polarized light travels through a glucose-containing solution before reaching the spinplasmonic detector. Glucose, being an optically active substance, results in modifications to the incident polarized light. These alterations in polarized light lead to changes in the tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) value of the MTJ device. This proposed setup could be advantageous for evaluating glucose levels through saliva, potentially aiding in the management of diabetes.
