Malfunctions of the Output Valve Spring in an Automotive Diesel Engine

Malfunctions of the output channel spring in an automotive diesel engine are investigated. It is found that collapse of the spring is due to fatigue failure on account of silicate inclusions perhaps introduced in steel production.
