Highlighting the latest research: November 2025

In this month's Research Roundup presented by the British Association of Nursing in Cardiovascular Care (BANCC), Robyn Lotto and Sue Elliott highlight new developments in hypertension management. Hypertension remains the most prevalent modifiable risk factor for cardiovascular disease worldwide and a leading cause of premature morbidity and mortality ( World Health Organization, 2023 ) Despite the availability of effective lifestyle and pharmacological interventions, achieving and sustaining optimal blood pressure control continues to present a major global challenge ( Mills et al, 2016 ). Recent guidance and new research evidence emphasise the value of nurse-led, multidisciplinary and digitally supported approaches to hypertension care, underlining the central role of nurses in improving the quality and equity of blood pressure management.
