SPLASH SINGULARITIES FOR THE VISCOUS 2D BOUSSINESQ EQUATIONS WITH ZERO THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY

Abstract In this paper we prove the existence of splash singularities, namely points where the boundary remains smooth but self-intersects, for the 2D Boussinesq system with zero thermal diffusivity. The result is obtained by combining the local existence and stability theorems.
