Sources of income are associated with all-cause mortality risk in older people: results from the Chinese longitudinal healthy longevity survey (CLHLS)
Among older people in China, compared with main income from family support, other types of income, especially work income, are associated with a reduced risk of all-cause mortality. Economic independence and stability may be important factors influencing health outcomes. Of course, given the inherent limitations of observational studies, the causal direction of this association still requires cautiousness.
