Solvent-Free Mechanochemistry Overcomes the Low Solubility of Inorganic Silver Fluorides in the Construction of C–F and S–F Bonds
We report a highly practical AgF-facilitated fluorination of tertiary alkyl halides under solvent-free ball milling. In most cases, these reactions are complete in 1 min. The approach was further extended to an ultrafast solid-state synthesis of arenesulfenyl fluorides and a tandem reaction of the resulting S-F bond across unsaturated hydrocarbons to give selective 1,2-sulfenyl fluoride insertion products in a one-pot manner.
