An 85-year-old patient with multilocular epithelioid sarcoma mimicking prurigo nodularis
Epithelioid sarcoma (ES) is a rare mesenchymal neoplasm that typically affects the distal extremities of adolescents and young adults (distal or classic type). It has a marked tendency for local recurrence and, ultimately, metastasis. Clinically, ES may mimic inflammatory dermatoses or cutaneous infections. We report an unusual case of ES in an 85-year-old woman, presenting in a manner clinically suggestive of prurigo nodularis.
