Photocatalytic Transformations of Tertiary Phosphines through Precise Control of Organophosphorus Radicals

Abstract This review highlights recent advances in photocatalytic transformations of tertiary phosphines mediated by phosphine radical cation intermediates. These processes enable diverse types of transformations, including dearomatization, atom migration, and multiple bond-cleave and -formation reactions. Mechanistic insights from experimental and theoretical studies provide valuable guidelines for developing new synthetic strategies toward organophosphorus compounds under mild and sustainable conditions.
