Research on Museum Education Activities for Autistic Children

Education is an important function of museums, and museum education activities are one of the ways to achieve museum education. The number of children with autism in our country is increasing every year, and organizing museum education activities for autistic children is a reflection of museum inclusiveness. At present, museum education activities for autistic children in China are mainly held based on relevant festivals, and the contents of the activities are combined with the characteristics of the museum, showing an overall positive trend. However, there are problems such as lack of dedicated time and space, low frequency of activities, single forms and low differentiation of activities. Museums could set quiet periods and provide exclusive activity spaces for autistic children, increase activity frequency and normalize it, and focus on the demassification and diversification of educational activities, to benefit children with autism.
