Research and Evaluation on the Deterioration of Ancient Wood in the Goddess Hall of Jinci Temple Based on XPS Test
This paper uses X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) technology to quantitatively characterize the C, O and N elements of 56 ancient wood samples taken from the goddess hall of Jinci temple. The changes in the atomic structure of the wood are analyzed, and compares it with the test results of corresponding new wood materials. The research results show that the content of O and N elements in the ancient wood of the goddess hall of Jinci temple has significantly increased, and the O/C element ratio and C atomic structure analysis show that the ancient wood samples have significant oxidative degradation. The pH value of ancient wood generally decreases compared to new wood, which is significantly correlated with an increase in N element content. The degree of change in pH value can indirectly reflect the degree of external N element invasion and the degree of environmental impact on ancient wood. This study can provide scientific basis for targeted preventive conservation measures taken in the goddess hall of Jinci temple.
