Healing Mechanism and Value of Museum in Facilitating the Recovery of Individual Social Function of Patients with Mental Disorders During Convalescence
Currently, medical rehabilitation constitutes the principal approach for rehabilitating patients with mental disorders. Nevertheless, mental rehabilitation encompasses psychological rehabilitation, social rehabilitation, and vocational rehabilitation. Hence, reinforcing the involvement of social entities, expanding the existing social support system, and enhancing the standards of mental rehabilitation are the paramount priorities of current mental health and mental health-related work. Museums have been demonstrated to possess healing potential for national health. Therefore, in light of the actual demands of individual social function restoration for patients with mental disorders during the rehabilitation process, concentrating on the purpose of rehabilitation at different stages, we can leverage the environmental atmosphere, spatial layout, service concept, collection interpretation, activity projects, and other elements of the museum to assist patients in reshaping their personal identity, regaining social identity, and facilitating their smooth return to society. This article aims to explore the spiritual healing mechanism and value of museums.
