New Exploration of Museum Services for Seniors with Dementia from the Perspective of Cultural Intervention
In recent years, with the expansion of museum services for seniors and the in-depth exploration of issues such as aging friendly design, services for the seniors with dementia have gradually received attention from the museum community. The interaction between collective memory and individual memory can provide theoretical explanations for museum services for elderly people with dementia, while the concept of “cultural intervention” closely linked to practical experience can compensate for the theoretical shortcomings. Therefore, this article explores the connection between cultural intervention and museum services for seniors with dementia, sorts out the three levels of manifestations of museum services for seniors with dementia from the perspective of cultural intervention, and further analyzes the difficulties faced by museum services for seniors with dementia in China at the implementation level. Based on this, solutions are provided for the development and implementation of museum services for seniors with dementia in China.
