Extrinsic pseudocapacitance of a vanadium carbide MXene-poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) heterostructure
In this work, we report on inducing redox charge storage of vanadium carbide MXene (V2CT<i>x</i>) <i>via</i> interfacial growth of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT). The reversible calciation capacity of V2CT<i>x</i> MXene is enhanced by three times with extended anodic stability after electrochemical polymerization of PEDOT. Synergistically, PEDOT coating suppresses the water activity while enabling the optimal flux of Ca2+ ions across V2CT<i>x</i> MXene interlayer spaces.
