Purpose: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of penalty points received by male taekwondo athletes participating in the 2023 Baku World Taekwondo Championships on match outcomes.Method: The study employed a qualitative research method using the document analysis model. Penalty points received in 139 matches involving male athletes who ranked in the top four at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships were analyzed across ten different categories based on match outcomes (win/loss).
