Güçlükonak İlçesi Büyükbaş ve Küçükbaş Hayvan Varlığı ve İşletme Yapılarının Analizi
This study was carried out to reveal the cattle and sheep population and livestock farm structures in Güçlükonak, the smallest district of Şırnak province. Developments between 2022-2024 were analyzed using the Farmer Registration System (ÇKS), Türkvet and District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate data. The number of cattle in the district was determined as 1,566, 1,186 and 1,542 heads between 2022-2024, respectively. In the same years, the number of sheep population was determined as 82,441, 87,597 and 105,359 heads. The change in animal population over the years was analyzed by trend analysis and linear regression. As of 2024, 333 cattle and 339 sheep farming enterprises are operating in the district. A significant portion of the enterprises are small-scale, and sheep farming is more common. ANOVA and Tukey HSD multiple comparison tests were applied in the analysis of business structures according to their size. When compared to general data in Turkey, the number of sheep per capita in the district is quite high. Land structure and climatic conditions are more suitable for sheep farming. It is recommended that regional support be increased and training be expanded for the sustainability of animal husbandry.
