Method research for low-carbon economic operation of multi-district integrated energy system considering P2P trading and CET-GCT interaction mechanism

Enhancing the interaction between Green Certificate Trading (GCT) and Carbon Emission Trading (CET) is crucial for improving the renewable energy consumption capacity of Integrated Energy Systems (IES), as well as energy efficiency, and emission reduction performance. It's of great significance for China to achieve its carbon neutrality goals. This paper addresses the low-carbon transformation needs of the Changwu coal-electricity industrial park in Shaanxi Province. Focusing on a Multi-district Integrated Energy System (MIES), a low-carbon economic operation model is developed that incorporates a two-way CET-GCT interaction mechanism and peer-to-peer (P2P) energy trading among MIES members. The research extends traditional electricity sharing to a collaborative electricity-heat-gas P2P trading framework. A key innovation is the establishment of the CET-GCT interaction model using the quantity of obtained green certificates and the trading volume of carbon emission rights as carriers, enabling mutual influence between the two markets. Furthermore, a flexible operation model for a Carbon Capture Power Plant (CCPP) equipped with a liquid storage tank is constructed to enhance IES operational flexibility and renewable energy utilization. Building on this, a low-carbon economic operation model for MIES is proposed, aiming to minimize the comprehensive operating cost while considering the coupling characteristics of electricity, heat, and gas. The model is solved using a distributed optimization algorithm based on the subgradient method, which protects the privacy of MIES members. Multiple scenarios are established for comparative analysis. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method effectively promotes the sharing of electricity, heat, and gas among MIES members, improves the renewable energy consumption capacity, and reduces both the comprehensive operating cost and carbon emissions, thereby achieving the low-carbon economic operation of MIES. • A P2P trading framework for MIES uses green certificates & carbon rights to link CET and GCT, enabling two-way interaction. • CCPP's flexible operation is achieved via liquid storage tanks, leveraging thermal energy's time-shift characteristics. • A low-carbon economic model minimizes MIES operating costs, considering multi-energy coupling & P2P trading. • A distributed algorithm enables multi-energy P2P trading, protecting data privacy via limited information exchange.
