A comparison of data acquired using two different land nodal recording systems as part of a 3D seismic survey
Nodal recording systems have become the preferred acquisition systems for onshore seismic acquisition driven by continuous improvements in their size, weight, battery life, and data quality. The number of different systems available has created a need to be able to compare their performance. In this paper we compare adjacent lines of data recorded as part of a larger 3D survey that used two different systems. Consistent with a previous, although much smaller study, we found no significant consistent differences between the data quality resulting from the use of the two systems. The results of this study confirmed our decision to acquire a survey using a combination of two different acquisition systems was justified.
