Erken Yaşta Beslenmenin Obezite Gelişimi Üzerine Etkisi

Objective:This review aims to evaluate the impact of infant and early childhood nutrition habits on the development of childhood obesity and to highlight the importance of preventive strategies.Method:A literature review was conducted using national and international research articles. The associations between early-life nutritional practices—including breastfeeding, formula feeding, complementary feeding, portion control, and taste preference development—and the risk of childhood obesity were examined.Findings:Studies indicate that breastfeeding plays a protective role against obesity, while formula feeding and high-protein complementary foods may increase the risk. Early exposure to sugary, salty, and processed foods contributes to unhealthy taste preferences and excessive energy intake. In addition, family feeding behaviors, media influence, and socioeconomic factors play a significant role in obesity development. Conclusion:Establishing healthy eating behaviors during early childhood is crucial for the prevention of childhood obesity. Multi-dimensional strategies supported by parental education, public awareness, and guidance from healthcare professionals can positively influence long-term health outcomes.
