Şair, Şehir ve Tasavvuf Ekseninde Namık Açıkgöz’ün “Şâhidî ve Muğla’da Mevlevilik” Adlı Kitabı

In his book titled “Şâhidî and Mevlevilik in Muğla”, Prof. Dr. Namık Açıkgöz examines Şâhidî İbrahim Dede from Muğla (1470 - 1550) and the Mevlevi culture in Muğla. The first section consists of Şâhidî’s grandfather, father, life, works, children, anecdotes, information, examples and evaluations on Mevlevilik in Muğla after Şâhidî. In the second section, the texts of the gravestones in the Şâhidî Mosque and Tomb are given in Latin letters. At the end of the book, there is a photo album of the Şâhidî Mosque (historical Muğla Mevlevi Lodge), the Şâhidî tomb and gravestones in the cemetery, and the "Tuhfe-i Şâhidî" manuscript in the author’s possession. The poems given in the book from the Şâhidî Divan are accurate examples in terms of showing his poetry in different verse forms and styles. The author has prepared his work for the benefit of the general reader rather than for academic concerns. However, the fact that the gravestones in the mosque and tomb graveyard have been read and that it is the first and perhaps only book that deals with the Mevlevi culture in Muğla also makes it an academic reference source.
