Hydroxyl-Functionalized Organic Polymers for Visible-Light-Driven Photocatalytic Hydrogen Peroxide Production
As a vital green oxidant, H2O2 is widely used in various fields. The photocatalytic H2O2 synthesis outperforms the traditional anthraquinone process in low energy consumption, low cost, and no secondary pollution. Organic photocatalysts have emerged as ideal materials for photocatalytic H2O2 synthesis due to their tunable band structures. Herein, various hydroxyl-functionalized polymeric materials were designed and synthesized for the visible-light photocatalytic production of H2O2 in isopropanol. The effects of hydroxyl substitution positions and contents on photogenerated charge carrier separation efficiency and active species generation were studied. TPOL-9F with a β-ketoamine structure showed higher oxidation potential, more stable charge separation, and under visible light irradiation, H2O2 production rate of 7052.8 μmol h–1 g–1.
