Steric Effects of β-Annulated Pyrroles Trigger the Formation of Ethynylene-Bridged Hexaphyrinogen versus Ethynylene-Cumulene-Linked Aromatic [30] π Hexaphyrin
Peripherally constraining macrocycles using arene-annulated pyrrole rings, the first solid-state structural isolation of a stereoselective αααα conformer of core-modified hexaphyrinogen with phenanthrene-fused pyrrole rings versus visible-NIR absorptive ethynylene-cumulene-conjugated [30] π hexaphyrin with acenaphthylene-fused pyrrole rings under similar reaction conditions is reported.
