Causal Relationships Among Serious Leisure Benefits, Perceived Value, and Sustained Participation Behavior of Female Futsal Club Members
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to analyze the causal relationships among serious leisure benefits, perceived value, and sustained participation behavior among female futsal club members. This analysis aims to identify how these factors influence the long-term continuity of futsal club activities and, ultimately, to determine the key factors that promote sustained participation in futsal as a women’s leisure sport. The findings will provide foundational data for future research and practical applications.
Method: The subjects of this study were female futsal club members from the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions, with a sample of 193 participants selected. The questionnaire was developed based on previous studies and subsequently revised and supplemented to align with the purpose of this research. To test the hypotheses, the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 23.0, using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis, and path analysis. The significance level for hypothesis testing was set at α=.05.
Results: The findings of this study are as follows. First, the serious leisure benefits of female futsal club members had a positive effect on perceived value. Second, these serious leisure benefits also had a positive effect on sustained participation behavior. Third, the perceived value among female futsal club members had a positive effect on sustained participation behavior.
Conclusion: In summary, causal relationships exist among serious leisure benefits, perceived value, and sustained participation behavior among female futsal club members. Furthermore, serious leisure benefits and perceived value were identified as critical factors influencing sustained participation.
