Comparative assessment of FTO and ITO substrates for BiVO 4 photoanodes: superior surface quality enabling faster water oxidation in ITO

We compared the PEC performance of BiVO 4 films grown on FTO and ITO. Although the ITO/BiVO 4 sample exhibits superior surface quality, its overall PEC performance is limited due to the inadequately formed junction at the ITO/BiVO 4 interface.
