Precise measurement of ultrathin film thickness via a neutron capture reaction

When neutrons interact with isotopes 6 Li or 10 B, charged particles with an initial energy E 0 are produced. The energy of these particles decreases to E x after passing through the thin film, and then the thickness can be deduced from the energy loss.

Abstract

When neutrons interact with isotopes 6 Li or 10 B, charged particles with an initial energy E 0 are produced. The energy of these particles decreases to E x after passing through the thin film, and then the thickness can be deduced from the energy loss.
