ÇAĞDAŞ RESİM SANATINDA DESEN VE DEFORMASYON

Art is a universal language expressed in various forms, reflecting the thoughts and feelings of societies and individuals throughout history. Since the beginning of time, even before developing a written language, humans have attempted to express the world around them and their inner worlds through lines, symbols, and shapes, thus creating the first works of art. By expressing their thoughts and feelings through patterns, humans established art as a universal language. Artists, by combining their personal feelings with objects and images from nature, reached new forms, thus paving the way for deformation in works of art. The changing world and technology have ensured that drawing remains an indispensable means of expression for artists. This article examines how drawing and deformation have influenced the artist's form of expression from a historical perspective. Contemporary art, by granting artists freedom of material and expression, has allowed them to move towards new forms, free from aesthetic concerns. Due to this, the more frequent occurrence of deformation in works of art appears as a method of expression for artists. Certain artists and their works, within the context of movements in contemporary art, are examined in the context of the relationship between drawing and deformation.
