Does ciclosporin cause symptomatic hypomagnesaemia in patients with psoriasis included in the British Association of Dermatologists Biologics and Immunomodulators Registry pharmacovigilance registry?
This descriptive, retrospective study examines the incidence of symptomatic hypomagnesaemia in patients with psoriasis treated with ciclosporin, using data from the British Association of Dermatologists Biologic and Immunomodulators Register. Our findings suggest no significant difference in hypomagnesaemia rates between patients exposed and unexposed to ciclosporin, indicating that routine serum magnesium monitoring may not be necessary unless additional risk factors are present.
