Canine paralagenidiosis caused by Paralagenidium ajellopsis : First report of an overlooked endemic oomycosis in Indonesia
Abstract This case report describes the first documented case of Paralagenidium ajellopsis infection in a dog in Indonesia. A 6.5‐year‐old West Highland white terrier presented with nonpruritic, locally distributed and recurrent draining tracts over the inguinal part. Polymerase chain reaction from the skin sample confirmed the presence of P. ajellopsis . Surgical excision followed by azithromycin and itraconazole treatment resulted in complete resolution without further recurrence.
