A note on a problem posed by Linderholm
Abstract In 1985, Linderholm posed the following problem: does every convex body K in the plane admit a right-angled triangle T that contains K and whose area is at most twice that of K ? Assuming that K has constant width, we prove that such a triangle T exists with area at most 2.07016 times the area of K .
