Amyand Hernia

Abstract Amyand hernias are a rare version of inguinal hernias containing the appendix. They are typically diagnosed intraoperatively, but imaging can provide substantial information important preoperatively, sufficient for diagnosis. Patients are typically asymptomatic. However, acute inflammation of the appendix within the hernia can rarely occur.
