CONSTRUCTION OF A MULTI-DISCIPLINARY COLLABORATIVE NURSING MODEL FOR PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC HEPATITIS B AND LIVER CIRRHOSIS AND ITS IMPACT ON LIVER FUNCTION

Abstract Objectives To investigate the clinical application effect of a whole-course nursing model for patients with chronic hepatitis B (CHB) cirrhosis based on multidisciplinary team (MDT) collaboration. Methods A total of 120 patients with CHB cirrhosis admitted between January 2022 and January 2025 were randomly divided into two groups, with 60 patients in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received a whole-course nursing model based on MDT collaboration in addition to routine care. Both groups were followed up for 3 months. Disease progression rate, liver function indicators (serum albumin (ALB), alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST), quality of life scores (SF-36 scale), and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results The disease progression rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (p<.05). After treatment, the serum (ALB) level in the observation group was significantly higher, and ALT and AST levels were significantly lower compared with the control group (p<.05). SF-36 scores in all dimensions were significantly higher in the observation group than in the control group (p<.05), with statistically significant differences. The incidence of adverse events showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups (p>.05). Conclusions A whole-course nursing model based on MDT collaboration can effectively delay disease progression, improve liver function, and enhance the quality of life in patients with CHB cirrhosis.
