Improving flow cytometry data with versatile StarBright Dyes 3509
Abstract Description Generating superior data from flow experiments is reliant on a high-quality sample in combination with the right reagents. Not every fluorophore is perfect for every assay; they don’t work well with the staining protocol, or compromises are made during panel design due to limited fluorophore choice for some antibodies. This results in sub-optimal data with the risk of low-level staining with high spillover and spreading causing a reduction in resolution. Here, we show how StarBrightTM Dyes offer a solution to these common pain points. They work in a wide range of protocols, including different buffers and both alcohol and PFA based fixatives. As well as different staining conditions, including overnight. To further expand antibody fluorophore choice new TrailBlazerTM Tag and StarBright Dye Label Kits have been developed. These allow antibodies to be labeled with the StarBright Dye of your choice, expanding options for optimal panel design to generate high-quality data. We demonstrate the performance of TrailBlazer StarBright Dye labeled antibodies in surface, intracellular and intranuclear protocols with data generated on the ZE5 Cell Analyzer. StarBright Dyes are versatile dyes ideal for including in multiplexing panels, due to their brightness and low spillover and spreading. They work in all common protocols, generating data with highly resolved cell populations. BIO-RAD, STARBRIGHT and TRAILBLAZER are trademarks of Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc. in certain jurisdictions.
