Sensitivity evaluation of boron hideout index in the various operation conditions of pressurized water-cooled reactor

To deduce the optimized operation condition for preventing the AOA, a sensitivity study was conducted to analyze the index of boron hideout along with various operation parameters and CRUD properties during PWR operation. Through the Multiphysics model for predicting the CRUD growth and boron hideout in PWR conditions, 56,320 cases of sensitivity simulations were conducted as a combination of each parameter: thermal hydraulics parameters, CRUD structural parameters, and operation conditions related to water chemistry control. Because of challenges in controlling the thermal hydraulics parameters and CRUD structural parameters, the optimization of the parameters related to the water chemistry was deduced as a purification objective. The influence of each parameter on the CRUD growth and boron hideout was analyzed and ranked, and the visualization of the numerous results was conducted through this study. The purification objective can be used as a water chemistry guideline for preventing the CRUD growth and boron hideout, and the simulation results can be used as a learning data for the application of a reduced-order model of the Multiphysics model through machine learning.
