Ethnic-specific gene expression patterns impacting prostate cancer in African-American men 2763

Abstract Description Objective To explore differentially expressed genes associated with metastatic prostate cancer in African-American men, who experience a higher incidence and aggressiveness of the disease. Methods We used computational biology techniques, qPCR validation, and CRISPR-mediated knockout in non-African American prostate cancer cells to analyze and confirm the expression levels of specific genes. Results Multiple genes exhibited high expression levels and were implicated in tumor progression. CRISPR knockouts confirmed their critical roles, highlighting potential therapeutic targets. Conclusion Our findings underscore the importance of ethnic-specific gene expression patterns in understanding prostate cancer disparities. This study advances personalized medicine by identifying potential biomarkers and therapeutic targets to improve outcomes for African-American prostate cancer patients. Further research is recommended to validate these genes’ roles in disease progression. Topic Categories Computational and Systems Immunology (COMP)
