Concurrent Malaria and Isolated Amoebic Splenic Abscess: A Rare Case Report

Malaria is a potentially life-threatening illness transmitted to humans by the bite of infected female Anopheles mosquitoes.Although preventable and curable, it continues to pose a major global health challenge.Among the five Plasmodium species known to infect humans, Plasmodium falciparum and Plasmodium vivax represent the most significant threats. 9Malaria remains a public health issue in many regions of the country, where approximately 95% of the population lives in areas prone to malaria transmission. 10oexistence of malaria with an isolated amoebic splenic abscess (ASA) is extremely rare, and only a few case reports have been found.Malaria can mask the diagnosis of ASA and may increase the disease severity, increasing both morbidity and mortality.
