The genome sequence of the Grove snail, Cepaea nemoralis (Linnaeus, 1758) (Stylommatophora: Helicidae)
<ns3:p> We present a genome assembly from an individual <ns3:italic>Cepaea nemoralis</ns3:italic> (Grove snail; Mollusca; Gastropoda; Stylommatophora; Helicidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 3 246.62 megabases and 3 270.72 megabases. Most of haplotype 1 (94.33%) is scaffolded into 22 chromosomal pseudomolecules, and 95.14% of haplotype 2 is scaffolded into 22 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 16.9 kilobases. Gene annotation of this assembly on Ensembl identified 27 653 protein-coding genes. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland. </ns3:p>
