Expression of concern: “Elderly users’ perceptions of signage systems from tertiary hospitals in Guangzhou” [Heliyon 10 (2024) e25003]

A post-publication investigation conducted by Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team on behalf of the journal attempted to verify the ethics approval waiver reported in this article. The authors were contacted for an explanation and explained this waiver was verbally provided. Elsevier's Research Integrity & Publishing Ethics team contacted the institution to verify the waiver, but they did not respond. Therefore, the investigation was unable to confirm whether or not ethics approval was appropriately waived for the research presented in this publication.
