Preliminary Study on Dose Coefficients Estimation for Marine Organisms (Fish/Crab) Using Voxel Models in Chinese Waters

Abstract By establishing dosimetric models for marine fish and crabs, we can derive dose coefficients (DCs) for 90Sr and 137Cs in marine fish and crabs, providing effective technical means and data for addressing issues such as the discharge of nuclear wastewater into the ocean. A voxel model has been developed to represent marine fish and crabs, enabling us to determine the internal radiation deposition energy of 90Sr particles and the external radiation deposition energy of 137Cs particles through Monte Carlo simulation. The dose coefficients of 90Sr and 137Cs in fish and crabs were calculated using a specific formula. This study has established voxel models of marine organisms based on Monte Carlo simulation technology, which has been compared with biotadc v.1.5.2 to demonstrate that the computed results are consistent within an acceptable range, thus validating the feasibility of our established dose model for assessing environmental radiation impact.
