Spatial shifts of transmitted beam through prism/graphene set in external magnetic field

• Shift of transmitted beam through prism/graphene set was studied in external field. • The evanescent beam shift was discussed for the first time in the total reflection. • GH shift exhibits a jump behavior and IF shift is anormal at the critical angle. • Interaction between incident SAM and electronic cyclotronic motion controls shifts. We investigated the Goos-Hanchen (GH) and Imbert-Fedorov (IF) shifts of transmitted beam through a prism-graphene set, where the graphene monolayer is attached to the bottom surface of the dielectric prism and an external magnetic field is applied vertical to the interface. We analytically obtained the expressions of spatial shifts and then conduct numerical calculations. There are two specific quantities here, the critical angle θ c and the electronically cyclotronic resonant frequency ω c , at which the spatial shifts are anormal. It is interesting that the spatial shifts of transmitted beam exist the case of total reflection. The GH shift is divergent at θ c , or the shift curve is discontinuous and exhibits a vertical jumping. The IF shift remines constant for a circularly-polarized incident beam, but it is 0 for a linearly-polarized incident beam at the critical angle. For both the positive and negative circularly-polarized incidences, the interaction of the incident spin angular momentum and electronic cyclotronic motion in the graphene layer leads to the shifts critically depend on the sign of polarization incidence or external field. Simultaneously changing the signs of a circularly-polarized incidence and the external field does not affect the GH shift but reverse the direction of the IF shift.
